Happy Canada Day!!!

Here's hoping all our fellow Canadians had a great Canada Day! We enjoyed a BBQ at our friend's house and lots of play time for the children. (I think there were eight children there at one point!) My boys had a blast - there were flags and sparklers, glow sticks, giant icecream cookie sandwiches, Big freezies, hot dogs, Canada tatoos and of course, fireworks! The only trouble with fireworks is that you have to wait until it's dark, and in these parts, that means waiting until at least 10:30 pm to begin! That makes for one tired family (Mommy included), oh well, good thing it's only once a year! Even though we didn't have "summer" weather, it didn't rain, despite the fact that it forecast it up until the morning of - so we need to be thankful we didn't get rained out. It was a good time with friends.

As for the card, my good friend Danielle inspired me to make something for Canada Day. The BBQ was at her place, and she made super cute invites with BBQ Riley - check out her card HERE. So, I thought, I want to make something patriotic too! I pulled out "Vintage Canada" from CTMH and this is what I came up with. Pretty quick and easy as I was running short on time. I finally pulled out my distressing tool from CTMH to rough up the edges, which I've had forever and not used, and decided I really like it, what d'ya know? Thanks for stopping by!

  6. Love this card! I've been looking at this set since before Canada Day (also my anniversary) and *nothing* was coming to me, but I will certainly be borrowing this idea, TFS!
