TGIF! Sure hope the weather is calm where you are, though it sounds as though it has been unstable in a lot of places!
We've just come out the other side of a nasty, full on winter storm. It started snowing early yesterday and didn't stop until a couple of hours ago. The winds were high and strong - tree limbs down, traffic lights shattered on the road, street lights not working, lots of blowing snow and white-out conditions. The Trans Canada Hwy was closed in both directions and there were tons of transports pulled into the local Walmart parking lot to wait it out - nasty! It was not a good day to be on the roads! It is one of the worst winter storms I have ever been out in - and it is the 19th of April folks! I was so happy to get home and stay put! I am willing to bet that we've had more snowfall so far in April than we had the entire rest of the winter, I can hardly believe it! It is currently -6 and feels like -14 c.
I thought I might as well share some crazy "spring" photos...
our front step, not that you can see it...
Lots of snow ended up IN the house - and yes the chalkboard on the wall says "Welcome Spring" - what a joke!
Enough about the weather!
Today's card is for CAS-ual Fridays where the theme is Birthday Bash. I have been having some fun with layering banners this last while after seeing lots of inspiration out there in blogland. These Simple Stories papers were perfect for playing with for a birthday card!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Shanna :)
What I used:
papers: Simple Stories - Happy Day
stamp: CTMH Happy Birthday
ribbon - Bo Bunny
button - MFT
Great design...and ahem...this snow is all your fault...all your praying for more snow for skiing...you should give a date that you want it to snow next time...first the flax...now all the snow...
ReplyDeleteOh Shanna! Why won't Spring come to you! Your pictures have me shivering! And all the snow tracked into the house,OMG! I hope you get some warm weather soon,I guess it can't snow in June! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove your card:I like the banner layering,it lets you use a lot of different patterned papers on the same card.
Have a great weekend!
Yikes! I heard about that crazy snow!!!
ReplyDeleteI am at a crop in Grand Bend this weekend... it was 28C yesterday...hope that makes you feel better ;)
PS. Great idea with the banners on your card!! Love it!!
Look at all of that snow, wow! Love banners on the card!
ReplyDeletelove the fun colors! thanks for playing along with CAS-ual Fridays!
ReplyDeleteYikes! This does not look good for spring! We still have about 2 feet in the yard and 1 - 2 inches forecast for tonight! Must be part of the same storm tracking west.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job combining the patters and colors - you definitely have a keen eye for color coordination!
Thanks for stopping by my blog to say hello :)
Wowza! For the cute card and the snow, can't believe it! Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at CAS-ual Fridays!
ReplyDeleteYour card is so well put together I had to let you know. I will have to make one, thanks for the inspiration. I am shivering just looking at your pictures, beautiful but I rather have the heat in Florida.
