Elmer's Craft Glue Giveaway!!!

As promised, I have something fun to share today! I rec'd an email from Meghann from Elmer's Craft Products a number of weeks ago asking me if I would like to participate in the Elmer's Crafters Challenge. I was promised there would be something fun (read - BLOG CANDY - keep reading) for my followers, so I agreed of course. A few weeks later, a fabulous package of Elmer's Products showed up on my doorstep - it was just like Christmas!!!

So, when it was time to make a Wedding card for our friends Stephanie and Chris who were married last weekend, I pulled out my fabulous stash of Elmer's products and went to town! We had a fabulous time at the Wedding - great food, great friends and us girls danced the night away, it's been quite awhile since I've done that much dancing!!! :)

I knew that I wanted a heart on the card but didn't have a Nestie in that shape, so hand cut them with my wonderful X-acto Designer Series Precision Scissors - easy peasy! I even used the old fashioned trick to fold the paper and draw half the heart, then open it up and voila! I had so much fun crumpling all my patterned paper, then flattening it out and stitching it onto the cardstock.

Elmer's CraftBond permanent tape runner was perfect for putting the basics of my project together! Tip - when stitching on your project, put glue only in the areas where you will not be stitching - otherwise your needle will become sticky and that makes for a cranky sewing machine! I dipped my chipboard letters in Versamark ink and embossed them in black before adhering them to my card with Elmer's foam mounting tape. My Elmer's glue spots also came in handy for adhering my ribbon to the card - did you know I LOVE ribbon!?!?! I also had to use some of my gapher tape from 7Gypsies. My card screamed to be distressed, so I went to town with my edge distresser as well.

If you're still with me, thanks for sticking around. I survived another week on the road - it was a great week and I accomplished a lot, but am glad to be home and can't wait to sleep in my own bed! I hope you've all had a fabulous week too!

Did you think I forgot about the candy!?!? Elmer's has generously donated three prize packages for my lucky followers. To enter, simply leave a comment and share your go-to style/color combo for Wedding cards and I will enter your name. My go-to style or design seems almost always to be a white/combo and I sometimes mix in the colors of the wedding. For this one though, I just stuck to the black and white, I think of the music note paper as romantic.

Each prize package contains:
X-ACTO:4-pack Decorative Edge Scissors, Self Healing Mat, Retractable Craft Knife, Craft Swivel Knife
CraftBond:Scrapbooking Tape, Repositionable Extra Strength Glue Stick, Wet & Dry Dual Tip Glue Pen, Permanent Tape Runner

Feel free to mention the candy on your blog if you like - we can all use more adhesive and a few extra crafting supplies!!! Blog candy will close on Saturday, October 23rd at midnight.

A big shout out to Meghann from Elmer's for inviting me to join the Crafters Challenge! I am honored to take part!

Shanna :)

  1. Lovely work! And all those Elmer's products sound very useful, too. Ok, of COURSE I want to be entered, so what can I say about wedding cards? I usually either do them on acetate with pastels(there's a wow factor there) or overload them with lots of silver--silver embossing, silver cord, silver ribbon etc. If at all possible I try to find out the wedding colours and tie those in.

  2. This is beautiful, Shanna! I love the way you did the inside, it's so pretty! My go-to wedding style is clean and elegant... lots of white, plus satiny ribbon.

  3. Great card! I like vintage wedding styles for my cards. Aged finishes, sepia tones, and I almost always include a photo. (I'm a photographer :)

  4. Hey Narna! How the devil are you old chap?!
I LOVE this card, love everything about it but especially the distressing (or "duffing" as my friend Faye calls it!)
Hope you get a good nights sleep inn your own bed, bet it's great to be back
    Enjoy the weekend
    Linds x

  5. Love the card, with my wedding cards I make sure that the bride's colours are present.

  6. Great card!!! Love it! My go to colour combo is black, white and whatever colour that will match the wedding I'm going to or the brides fav colour. last one I made was black white and purple.

  8. I love your card it turned out beautiful. I love your card possibly because it is my favorite wedding colour combo. I love black and white for weddings. Sometimes if I want to add a splash of colour I will used whatever the bride's wedding colour's are and mix them in with my black and white. Great Job!
