Thanks from the library of

Happy Sunday! It was a rainy day and I managed to sneak into my crafty space (my happy place) long enough to create this! I was inspired by a number of challenges. See below.

My boys are avid readers and as such, they like to remember to thank their school librarian at Christmas and at year end - only a few weeks left - so this should do the trick methinks! :)

Here is the inside:

The quote reads:

"Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes the day happier." - Kathleen Norris

How true it is!

Are you a reader too? I am always on the lookout for recommendations! What is your fave title/author ever? Lately, I have been reading a lot of what my 10 and 13 year old read so I can be "up to speed." I love historical fiction. I would love to hear what you have been reading!

I made this card for a few challenges:

Fusion Card Challenge -

The Paper Players - masculine card

Inkspirational - photo inspiration

Thanks so much for visiting!
Shanna :)

  1. This is just so wonderful! As a school librarian, I can tell you that I'd be delighted to receive this card and I'm always on the lookout for book and reading related stuff! I read lots of YA fiction too as it kind of goes with the job. I'm currently reading Miss Hazel and the Rosa Parks League by Jonathon O'Dell which is historical.

  2. Cool card! I, too, love historical fiction, some more than others. I prefer books on Richard III, Elizabeth I, etc. I have also read ALL the Outlander books, even side stories. Love them all.

    1. Oh, I love those books too! Lord John's stories have become a real favourite, although it's hard to beat Jamie!

  3. Great card, I'm sure the librarian will love it :)

  4. Shanna, this is just great! WOW! The librarian will love this!!! I am a Historical Fiction lover. So glad you joined us at The Paper Players this week! XX

  5. What a perfect thank you card for a male librarian Shanna - I am sure he will love it! I can identify with that sentiment too - so true. Thanks for joining in with my masculine challenge over at The Paper Players this week!

  6. What a perfect card for your librarian friend, Shanna! Every detail speaks to the library theme....and I LOVE it!!! Thanks for playing with The Paper Players this week!

  7. What a marvelous thank you card for a librarian...and a most thoughtful gesture, too! Mega-watt smile guaranteed when your boys present it! Thank you for sharing your creativity in the Inkspirational gallery! As for 'good' reads: I love the mystery series by Louise Penny. She creates a marvelous 'sense of place' in setting her mysteries in Three Pines and her main character, Inspector Gamache...oh my! Love her books.

  8. An amazing card! Love the theme. I am currently listening to books by Janette Oke & T Davis Bunn. I tend to listen to books while crafting. I was fortunate to read many of the books that my son read as he was growing up and have loved reading anything that is historical fiction as well. I have a bunch of favorite authors, not all of them write historical fiction: Katherine Boo, Craig Johnson, CJ Box, Katherine Paterson, Adrian Trigiani, Kery Madden, Judith Miller, Cat Winters, Susan Elia MacNeal, Karen Cushman, Lee Smith, Tracy Chevalier, Jan Karon, Robyn Carr, Jennifer Chiaverini, Kate DiCamillo, Neil Gaiman...SORRY, this is an endless list. I could go on and on.

  9. I love books, and I love this gorgeous card! Thanks for joining us at Fusion!

Thanks for visiting! I love to hear what you think of my work! :)
