Enjoy the journey - Inspired By

This is my take on Laurel's inspiration photo at Inspired By this week.

This was a quickie since I used stickers and absolutely no stamping! - gasp! I hardly ever use stickers, especially on cards, but my recent foray into Smashing has reminded me how much fun stickers can be and how fast a card can come together with the right ones!

Here is the photo:

Consider yourself HUGGED!

A real quick post tonight to let you know that I am still alive and well even though I've been absent from blog land. Life has just been busy, mostly good, but busy! I have spent as many days away from home so far in May as I have spent at home, so that has left little time for crafting and blogging.

Anyhow, I have a couple of projects that I had made and photographed awhile back but hadn't gotten around to posting. This is one of them. Super simple, but so very fun!

I just adore this paper and would love to find more and in different colours!

Hope you have had a good start to your week!

These are the days

I made this card for my sister for Mother's Day/Birthday since her birthday fell on the day after Mother's Day this year. It also happens to be her first Mother's Day! She is the Mom of this adorable little guy:

And here is the Mom!

I have had this quote in my stash (from CTMH) for forever, but had not had the occasion to use it until now. I played around with the layered banner look again (this one is quite similar to the Mother's day card I made awhile back) and also used Laurel's current Inspired By challenge to help out. I went more with the theme than anything and of course, I have included a quote as well. Here is the inspiration photo, it makes me giggle. I was one of those moms who fretted if I didn't have the energy to change the sheets, so I usually did. lol

I hope you all had a fabulous Mother's Day, thanks so much for stopping by!

Stay

A very busy week here, but I want to share this card I made for "Inky Chicks". I had all the scraps {as well as this tea cup already cut out} from a card I made a little while back and it just so happens that it all fit with the theme at Inky Chicks which is "blue and brown"!

I do apologize as I think my sentiment came out a little blurred in the photo - the light was failing and I was rushing to get my photo taken in order to get this posted. I struggled a great deal at first with how to used this large tea cup, in the end the best way seemed to be to cut it out. What do you think?

I have a sick kiddo at home, hoping he will start to feel better tomorrow. Poor guy missed his track meet today after spending several weeks preparing. Fingers crossed he is better in time for his wrestling tournament on Thursday!
Thanks for stopping by,

Shanna :)

Hello - Happy Mother's Day!

A quick post to say hello and Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies out there! I had the most scrumptious breakfast served to me this morning by hubby and the boys - French toast - my fave! Thanks guys for all the fab homemade gifts too - just the way I like 'em - homemade and from the heart!

It has been a busy month so far, hence the lack of blogging. When all is said and done I will have travelled for three out of four weeks in May, so blogging is on the back burner until that slows down. I had a fantastic visit with my family but several of us caught a sinus/head cold so that slowed me down a bit too! The weather has been mostly depressing - we had flurries again yesterday and though the sun was shining today, it was so windy it was not pleasant to be outdoors for more than 10-15 minutes without a toque! Alas, my garden sits sadly waiting for me to tidy it up. Maybe next weekend...

I would like to share at Cute Card Thursday where the theme is "blue".

Hope you had a great weekend as I have had.

Shanna :)
