Celebrating Baby

Well Hello!
How is it September already?!?! Wow did summer ever fly by! Well, I do LOVE autumn!

This week, the prompt at Shopping our Stash is "Quit Buggin' Me" - use bugs! Since I needed a baby card and this very old Stampin Up wheel stamp includes bugs, I was set. Can you believe that this was the first and only time I have ever used this adorable stamp?? The funny part is, I had stamped this out years, literally years ago, and had not used it. So when I came across it recently it stayed at the top of the pile and voila, a card!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy every little bit of the rest of your long weekend! I know I will!

Library Challenge - The Rose Garden

 Good morning!
I would like to share today's card in two fabulous challenges:

The Library Challenge - The Rose Garden
- I just found out I was one of the Librarian's Choices for my Do Something Epic card - hooray and thank you!

Here is a peek at the envelope/tag that holds an extra message! I really had some fun here - that is a vintage button - love using them on my cards and pages. Anything garden related is so fun! I have been spending lots of time in my garden this last while so have not been doing as much creating and visiting, but plan to very soon!

I would also like to share at the Paper Players where they are celebrating their 400th challenge! Join in, they have amazing sponsers and prizes too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Home is where we park it

Happy Canada Day!!!

Wow! Where did June go? It has been a busy month in our house. Graduation, prom, travel for work, gardening...
My youngest son and I are volunteering at a Canada Day Event this afternoon where CNIB (the Not-for-profit I work for) is having a bake sale table. These are the goodies I made in lieu of baking since it has been so hot the last couple of days!

And here is my card:

Do something EPIC

Hello! I hope you've had a wonderful weekend!

Today's card is for the The Library Challenge! I am finally playing along. The "Where the Wild things are" (by Maurice Sendak) challenge runs until June 30th. My boys loved this book. You may choose to be inspired by the Cover, the title, or the story. The boy in the book goes on quite the journey in a boat to "where the wild things are." Pretty epic if you ask me! So I sort of went with an Adventure theme.

I upcycled a label/ad from one of my fave pair of hiking shoes as the backdrop. Not sailboats, but canoes are watercraft at least. So I figured this paper would make a good matching envelope. This was a fun card to make!

Sunny Day Birthday

Hip, hip hooray for Friday! This week felt like a long one, so thankful for Friday! I would like to share the card I made for a good friend. I adore this image and had so much fun colouring her with my copics.

A peek at the inside

Today's project is for Shopping Our Stash where they have prompted us to use this very Cheerful, Summery Colour Palette!

I would also like to share at Seize the Birthday - the optional challenge is a Beach theme and although I would consider the colours on my card "beachy" my image is not so much, unless of course this little gal is on the maintenance crew and giving the cabanas a fresh coat of paint.

Thanks so much for your visit!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello and Happy Mother's Day! I love decorating my envelopes to mail, so thought I 'd share this one. CTMH's "Happy Mail" is one of my faves for decorating envelopes.

Here is a shot of my Mama with my baby brother and I circa 1979. Isn't she a beauty?

Here she is again with my youngest in 2008. My boys sure love their Nanny!

And with my eldest in 2008.

Live in the Sunshine

I've been busy in my scrap room - we have lots of family birthdays in the spring!

I just realized I forgot to photograph the inside - this is my Mom's Birthday card. This quote seemed more fun for the front than the standard Happy Birthday since it fit with the theme.

I would like to share again at Inspired By - Time to Garden

And at Seize the Birthday - anything goes

Thinking of You

Today I have a card with a spring feel. I used the current sketch at Freshly Made as well as Laurel's Garden theme at Inspired By. I used to have a fabulous pair of red and white polka dot rubber boots that I wore gardening on the mucky days. They were so much fun!

A peek at the inside - the verse says:
In every walk with nature one receives far more than one seeks. - John Muir

Unfortunately, the light was a bit too low when I took my photos! I had to make it work, but I notice that the washi tape I used looks like a different colour on one side of my image - oh well - it is the same tape, but the lighting definitely wasn't working for me.

I would like to share at:
Freshly Made Sketches - I rotated the sketch

Santa's Little Helpers

Today I have a layout to share at Shopping Our Stash where the theme is - Mythical or Magical. My boys enjoyed helping to wrap gifts and pretending to be elves. They were so small here!

Journalling: Wesley enjoyed telling Daddy about him and Cameron wrapping gifts at Auntie Krista's house. "I was the "bower," we were being elves!"

I used some Thickers that had apparently been hanging around just to be used on this layout, since the green matched my Bo Bunny paper perfectly!

Here's hoping you are enjoying your weekend!

Shanna :)
