Thinking of you at this difficult time

Well, I was finally able to get into my craft room and make a couple of the sympathy cards that I need to send. It felt good to putter in there and actually produce something - it had been so long!!!Here is the first one.

And the second. I simply rifled through the scrap bin for a few different colours.

I found some inspiration over at Less is More where the challenge is things that move. Thank goodness, as I really wanted to come up with a somewhat simple design and then repeat it a few times.

And here is the inside. This Stampendous sentiment set is my "go to" set for sympathy cards. It's called "Encouraging Words" SSC134. I've had it for sometime so have no idea if it is still available, but I am always so glad I have it at times like these.

I do hope you've had a lovely weekend. We have - good times with friends and weather that wasn't too hot!
Take care,
Shanna :)

What I used:
stamps: Tattered Angels Graceful Journey Screen Prints clear stamps, Stampendous sentiment set
inks: twilight, pansy purple

Thinking of you

Happy Saturday! My goodness, it has been almost a week. I was back to work this week with a day trip added in there. I've been so tired (often falling asleep for the night after storytime with the boys!) I guess just recovering from my vacation, lol! Any awake time, besides going to work, has been spent on de-cluttering and organizing in anticipation of back to school in a couple of weeks.

Needless to say, I am lacking in the mojo department. I am hoping that getting on here and posting something from the stash and then making the rounds to visit will get me going again. I have about six sympathy cards to make as well as some birthdays and a wedding......please send you mojo vibes my way!!!

Vacation photos

The first creature the boys found on the beach. Oops, these landed out of order.

Papa and Chester on board the Tall Ship in Halifax Harbour.

Chester driving the Tall Ship!!! Hey, I thought he was too young to drive!!!

Pickle Pants and Chester rescuing a starfish from the beach at our first campground.

And here is our lovely first view of the Cabot Trail - lol! Sooo much fog! It did clear somewhat, but we missed entire sections so I captured very little on "film" that first leg of the journey!

I promise to share better ones soon!

The Atlantic

One more page for our vacation album. I can't tell you how thrilled I am to have a few of these done beforehand!!! And look, I used stickers!!! I am really bad for buying stickers because they look like good ones and never using them. Not in this case, it is partly why this is coming along fairly quickly!
This will be the first time seeing the Ocean for Chester and Pickle Pants! I was an adult before I saw the ocean for the first time!!! Tha was the West Coast - I'm thrilled to be seeing the East Coast for the first time with my family.

Take care,
Shanna :)

Come Sail Away with me!

Here is another layout from the album I started for our trip to the East Coast. I can't wait to get the photos onto these pages! I had so much fun " building the sun in the corner. :)

I am going to share this over at the Ribbon Carousel Blog this week where the challenge is "Everything Goes" - you simply need to use ribbon, twine or anything that comes on a spool. I've used some fab ric rack on mine, "borrowed" from Donna - thanks hun!

These fab Bo Bunny papers were so fun to use!

Thanks for stopping by!

Another teacher gift...

Just sharing another teacher gift that I forgot to post. This one was actually for the librarian at my boy's school. Don't you think the librarian often gets "lost in the shuffle?" We try to remember her. :)

And here is the front. I am getting close to running out of this fab line. Clipboards can use up stash pretty quick - hmmm, that could mean room for more right?

Hope you're having a great week!
Shanna :)

Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Hello! Just wanted to share a few more photos - these are from Halifax.

The view from the Citadel - lots of fog! It did clear by dinner time.

First we visited the Citadel where they fire the cannon every day at 12 noon. Pickle Pants decided to enlist - they told him was too young to fight, but that he could play the bagpipes!Les boys atop the Citadel - similar to Thunder Bay's Old Fort William Historical Park.

Hubby & I

All four of us
Lots of Canadian pride!!!
You hear Canadian musicians being played everywhere - even the buskers are playing Canadian tunes - Sarah Mclaughlin, Neil Young....sidewalk art - lots of street performers/buskers

We think Halifax rocks!!!

Cheers,
Shanna :)

Holiday Weekend fun

Here are just a few random photos from Canada Day weekend. I meant to post these a long time ago but just never got around to it.
