How sweet it is to be loved by you!

Happy Sundae!

It's time for another Paper Sundaes Challenge! This week, the challenge is to make something with a Valentine's Theme. Our sponsor this week is The Paperworks Co. Play along for your chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate!

This adorable image is "Sweets from Charlotte" from the Freckle Stamps Love Collection by Little Loud Stamps. Isn't she just adorable?

I had fun coloring this image with my copics and embellishing with some homemade embellishments made with fabric and stitched with embroidery floss. I just love the colors in this card. The sketch is last week's from The Sweet Stop - how appropriate is that!?! They have another great sketch this week, I used it on my card yesterday.

Hope you can play along this week! Have a happy Sundae!

Shanna :)

What I used:

stamps: Sweets from Charlotte (Freckle Love Collection)
papers: Bo Bunny
embellishments: handstitched hearts, Bo bunny ribbon
Sketch: last week's sketch from The Sweet Stop

Two card day......

Hello!
I have two cards to share today.... I promised to share a card with CTMH's February Stamp of the month (which I love!), so here goes...

I LOVE the colors that Danderella used on her card from yesterday which she made for Twilight Tuesday's color challenge, so I decided to give these colors a go myself and play along too. You can play along at Twilight Tuesday.com. I pulled out the February Stamp of the Month, "Piece of Cake" and had some fun. I also had some fun used the Cuttlebug - thanks Jen & Danielle! The cake images are from "Piece of Cake" while the sentiment on the outside is from the SOM for March - another set I love. The sentiment on the inside is from "Piece of Cake" too.

I also used the sketch from The Sweet Stop for this card.

What I used:
stamps: CTMH "Piece of Cake" & "A Little Everything"
papers: CTMH ocean, cranberry, misc grey CS, black bazill
tools: Cuttlebug - classic ovals, Happy Birthday embossing folder, SU spritzer tool - hard to see the effect in the photo, sorry
embellishments: bella bling, black CTMH ribbon

The card below is for Sparkle's Christmas Card challenge this week which was "no coloring". I was somewhat taken aback at first, but then decided all I had to do was pull out some fun patterned paper! This is what I came up with. It was a quickie, so I made two.

What I used:
stamps: Hero Arts
papers: DCWV paper pack
embellishments: Kaiser bling, DCWV chip board die cuts, misc ribbon from LSS, machine stiching

Happy Saturday everyone! I am having a get together at my house tonight, so I'd better go and get my house in order! LOL

Shanna :)

p.s. Be sure to come back tomorrow to check out my challenge card for Paper Sundaes. We have another great sponsor this month, so be sure to join us!

Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone! The weekend is almost here, woo hoo! What a strange week it has been. I was supposed to be away for three days for work, but got some really crazy rain/snow stuff and then a flash freeze which made for aghmm, less than acceptable travel conditions, so I had to cancel (and reschedule) my trip! Bonus is that I got to spend more time at home than I planned to this week, the drawback is the whole rescheduling thing. So difficult to re-work things to fit in a trip like that, then I have to get the babysitters all lined up again, you see what I mean? Oh well, whadya gonna do....

Onto my card - I am so excited because I actually managed to get my very first Bellarific Friday challenge done for Stamping Bella where the theme was Birthdays, and submitted! I picked up a few of the super cute new Tiddlyink stamps from my LSS, DAT'S a week or two ago and couldn't wait to ink them up. I am trying to use up some paper from my stash - ya right who am I kidding? - and came across this stuff I have had for ages. It's called Celebrate from American Traditional Designs. Anyhow, it sort of worked with this little guy. I colored with my copics, the ribbon is CTMH and the sentiment is SU. I tried to use a sketch for this one, but it ended up just too different. That's about it.

Happy almost Friday!
Shanna :)

Love you Forever.....

**This is my second post for today - if you want to check out my second submission in the Greeting Farm Relay Race, please scroll down. ** Here is another card using that fabulous fabric I picked up the other day - I just can't get enough of it! I am entering this one in the challenge over at Caardvarks, which is Red & Hearts.

The old -fashioned looking print in the background is actually a bag from a giftshop that I found stashed in box in my garage with some stuff from my childhood - apprently I hoarded stuff that "might someday be used for a craft" even then....lol! I'm so glad I kept it because I love how it looks. I don't know what I'll do when it's all used up - lightbulb - maybe I should photocopy it! Hmmm, or I could just go on a hunt for vintage looking books, etc at the local thrift shop. I've been wanting to go looking for old dictionaries/music books for sometime now, but just never seem to get around to it - perhaps I just found a good reason to do it!

Have a great evening!

Shanna :)

What I used:

papers: black CS - CTMH, printed paper is an old recycled bag from a gift shop, polka dot fabric
stamps: CTMH
embellishments: heart buttons from a quilt shop, black embroidery thread, machine stitching, prima flower, CTMH chipboard
tools: CMTH edge distresser

Thank you from Charlotte - Entry Two in The Greeting Farm's Relay Race

Good morning! This is Charlotte and this card is my second entry in the relay race at The Greeting Farm. Just a quick post this morning. I'll be back later with another card I can't wait to share. Happy Tuesday!

What I used:
stamps: digi Charlotte - TGF, sentiment - CTMH
papers: Basic Grey Lemonade & Bo Bunny dot for base
embellishments: yard sale ric rac, e. flower, Basic Grey brads

Mer Ian - The Greeting Farm Relay Race

This is my second post for today. Please scroll down if you want to check out my earlier post...

Meet "Mer Ian" from The Greeting Farm. I just found out about the Relay Race and decided to put a card together quick like so I can go on the the next step. Here is what I came up with...

The photos aren't the best as the light was failing as I took this, but it's the best I could do as this has to be posted by 6 pm CST.

Have a great evening!
Shanna :)

What I used:

stamps: Digi Ian - TGF, CTMH sentiment

papers: Lime Rickey - Basic Grey

Embellishments: Basic Grey brads, machine stitching, misc ribbon, SU tag punches

Thank you for your kindness

I love polkadots! So, when I walked by a consignment store on my way to do groceries on Friday and saw a big pile of fabric I just had to stop - and this is one of the many (very inexpensive) fabrics I found. Oh, I was so excited. I admit I love a bargain, especially if it is something I can play with in my craftroom! So, I came home with probably about 10 different fabrics, in varying colors and sizes and paid a whopping $4.00 for the whole lot. Woo hoo, that was fun!

I've been wanting to put some more fabric on my projects, so pulled out this polka dot as soon as I had a chance and started playing. I was inspired by this set of cards at MADE. Dana's work is so inspiring - she is always "reminding" me to use my sewing machine and even makes me want to sew clothes!!! Hmm, well that requires a little more work than these cards I dare say.
Anyhow, I am entering this card in the challenge over at Allsorts as they are looking for Hearts & flowers this week. I'll be back again tomorrow (so long as my scheduled post works!) as I have a few more challenge cards ready to go this week.
Wishing you a happy start to your work week!
Shanna :)
What I used:
stamps: CTMH - Thank You & February Word puzzle
papers: Kraft CS & dark brown bazzil
embellishments: machine stitching, prima flowers, misc button
ink: cocoa CTMH
tools: CTMH edge distresser

Forever - the best is yet to be

Good morning! Today, the second challenge for the new Paper Sundaes challenge blog begins! Sure hope you can join us and play along. This week our sponsor is Ildi Co and they are generously offering 4 FREE digi stamps to the random winner.

This week, we have a recipe challenge for you! Since we are Sundae Girls, we are asking you to "Build a Sundae."

Please use:

Chocolate ice cream - brown

Strawberry sauce - pink

Whipped cream topping - lace

The finishing touch - flowers

So, I'm now craving a Sundae!!! (aghmm, a little too early in the morning for that; however, if I had the REAL ingredients in the house, I would probably make and devour one anyhow!)

I can't wait to see what you will all come up with!

Thanks to everyone who participated in last week's sketch challenge! I had a great time visiting your blogs and checking out your creations!

I am going to enter this also into this week's challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges as their challenge is Pretty in Pink.

Happy Sundae Everyone!

Shanna :)

papers: CTMH

Yum, yum!

Happy Saturday! I wanted to post earlier today, but I am having trouble uploaded my photos. My scanner doesn't want to read my flash card - urgh!!! So, although I can't post the card I really wanted to post, I can post this one. I used last week's Mojo Monday sketch, but obviously didn't get it done and submitted on time, oh well. I LOVE this sketch and will be using it again!

I had fun coloring this sweet Magnolia image which was RAK'd to me by Kristine back in the fall. The challenge at Raise the Bar this week is to use something that was gifted to you, so here is my card, thanks to Kristine.

I'm trying to be quick as I have to get ready to go out on a date with hubby! It's been too long since we've been out of the house without the boys, should be fun.
Have a great evening! I will be back in the morning with my card for this week's Paper Sundaes challenge, but sure to stop by and check it out!
Cheers,
Shanna :)
What I used:
stamps: Magnolia - RAK'd from Kristine, CTMH swirls, SU tag
papers: bazill, MME
embellishments: misc. buttons, SU ribbon, machine stitching
tools: SU spritzer tool, SU tag punches

Love

Happy Friday! Hooray, the weekend is here!

I don't think I've posted any Valentine cards yet, so I am sharing this one today. I must admit I had some difficulty with the layout of this one as I really wanted to use the tree from "Childhood Portrait" but it is quite large. The solution was to place the sentiment on the image. I think it worked. Hmmm, I don't really have much to say about this one, guess I'm not feeling very chatty today. :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
Shanna :)
p.s. You still have time to enter our first challenge over at Paper Sundaes. This week's challenge is a sketch and is sponsored by Stamp & Create. We will have a new challenge to share on Sunday.
What I used:
stamps: "Childhood Portrait" - CTMH
papers: CS - cocoa & colonial white, MME DSP
embellishments: organdy ribbon, misc heart (I can't remember what co.)

May your day be Merry & Bright

Good morning!
Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge this week is a sketch - and here is my card. I have had this beautiful Sarah Kay stamp for nearly a year and finally inked it up and got it colored. It was really fun to color!
I had some fun with the inside of this one too. I used the little Holly stamp from my Hero Arts December set and made a border.

Assuming that it is okay to enter more than once (sorry if not), I am also entering this into this week's Raise the Bar Challenge to use new stuff! Never hurts to have a good reason to get that new stash out!
Happy Thursday everyone, have a great day!
Shanna :)
What I used:
stamps: Sarah Kay, Hero Arts December set
papers: CS - Vineyard Berry from CTMH, Basic Grey - Eskimo Kisses
Embellishments: sugared brads, misc velvet ribbon, Prima poinsettias

Happy Birthday from Lenny

Today I have a more masculine card to share. I've been doing some rather girly stuff lately, and thought I should change it up a bit.
I was inspired to make this card when I visited Kristine at Ink Something and saw the KLSNS Challenge. There is actually a day called "Appreciate a Dragon Day" - makes me think of Hagrid in Harry Potter (I'm halfway through the series). In honor of this , the challenge this week is to use a dragon/reptile on your card or a texture that resembles scales etc. When I saw this, I realized I had this cute image called "Lenny's Love me nots" (High Hopes) from an image swap a long time back. I pulled out some boyish papers and this is what I came up with, with a little inspiration from a Mojo Monday sketch from last year (#108). I used that fun "spritzer" tool from SU to add some interest to the white space around Lenny - I LOVE this tool - can't get enough of it!
It was approved by my five year old son who laughed out loud when he saw it and said "He, he, it looks like he's gonna eat the birdie!"

I am also going to enter my card in this week's challenge for a new Challenge Blog called "Raise the Bar" that I learned about over at Sparkle's Creations. The challenge this week is to use something new. Well, I received all that fabulous Bella Bling for Christmas from my boys who picked it out (along with some great stamps and other things) all by themselves when the went shopping for me at our LSS - DAT'S Scrapbooking. Ok, well they "might" have had a little bit of help from my fabulous friend Donna (who evidently owns the store) and her daughter. Thanks girls - you provided good guidance!

I am headed for bed, have a great night!

Shanna

What I used:

stamps: Lenny's Love me nots (High Hopes), Happy Bday - SU, sentiment - CTMH

papers: Basic Grey - Skate Shoppe, bazzil

emebellishments: Bella Bling, machine stitching

Wish Big

Just a really quick post today as I'm bushed. This is my entry for this week's Friday Sketchers challenge. I used their great sketch to create this card. I am also entering this in the Sew Many Cards Challenge where the theme this week is Anything Goes! I actually colored this image while I was away for work last week - at the desk in the hotel (er actually B&B) room.
Have a great week! I don't care much for Mondays, so I'm glad it's almost over!
Shanna :)
What I used:
stamps: sentiment outside - SU, inside - CTMH, elephant -Whipper Snapper
papers: MME
coloring: copics
embellishments: flowers - prima, misc buttons, ribbon - SU, machine stitching

Paper Sundaes first Challenge!

Good morning and Happy Sundae!

It's finally here! The day of the first challenge for the brand new Canadian Challenge Blog - Paper Sundaes! Our first challenge is a sketch and you will have a chance at winning a prize from Stamp & Create if you play along!

Here is the card I came up with. The image is a Tilda from Magnolia that Danderella was kind enough to share with me. I know, it is difficult to think about Christmas right now since we just finished all that, but for some reason the day I made this I was still in Christmas mode - that was okay with me though as I am getting a head start on my Christmas cards for 2010! Besdies, it was fun to photograph it in my tree before it had to come down!

Be sure to stop by Paper Sundaes and visit the other DT members to check out their work!

My card qualifies for a couple of challenges. First of all, The everybody-art-challenge blog is looking for snowflakes. The Fussy & Fancy Friday challenge blog is looking for Winter Theme. And, last but not least, The Roses on Paper Challenge blog is looking for winter combined with specific stamp companies and because I used a Magnolia, this qualifies.

Oh, and I cannot forget to announce the winner of my blog candy from last Sunday's Paper Sundaes blog hop - the winner is: Helen F. Please email me (you can find it in my profile) your info and I'll get that sent out to you! Congrats!

Sure hope you can come and play with us - we look forward to seeing your creations! Have a Happy Sundae!
Shanna :)

What I used:
Stamps: Magnolia, Stampendous (sentiment)
Papers: Bo Bunny Serenade
Coloring: copics
Embellishments: Bo Bunny, misc ribbon, stickles on snowflakes & ornament
Tools: snowflake punch, SU border punch

I am entering today's card in three different challenges:
First of all, I came across Everything But the Kitchen Sink challenge blog at Creative Antics. Their challenge this week is a sketch - made for a quick and simple card! Great sketch!
While visiting Andrea's Blog, I discovered that the Cute Card Thursday challenge this week is to use Pink & Gray.
Also, I believe this qualifies for the Pink Elephant challenge to make a Birthday card.
What I used:
stamps: Henry from Whiff of Joy, sentiment from CTMH
papers: Bo Bunny from my scrap bin
embellishments: prima flowers, Kaiser pearls
coloring: copics
Have a great weekend everyone!

Cutie Tutu

Hi everyone!

Today I have a card to share that I made for this week's KLSNS challenge to use pink, black and neutral on a card. I used this week's sketch over at Stampin 411, which I love! It's so versatile and quick! Always nice to have a sketch like this in mind when you need a quick card - you will be seeing a few more like this! Oh and I almost forgot, I think this qualifies also for Cupcake Craft Challenges' "Going Girly" challenge, so I'm entering it there too!

Just a quick post for tonight. Hubby is complaining I've been spending too much time blogging - what does he know!?! He hasn't figured out the "happy wife, happy life" thing!

What I used:

stamps: CTMH A child's portrait & Happy Birthday
papers: CTMH blush & black CS, patterned paper from my stash (cannot recall from where)
tools: SU border punch
embellishments: prima flower, CTMH brad

Cheers,

Shanna

Growing up is optional!

Hello! I made it back from my work trip and I am happy to see that my scheduled post worked and many of you fabulous followers even left me comments! What a nice thing to come home to! Thank you!

So, I must admit, I was having some withdrawl while I was away!! Over the holidays, especially since Christmas, I've been posting and visiting lots more than I had been able to do in a long time. So, when I had to hit the road for work and realized I would be cut off for two whole days, I was rather deflated! I carry a laptop everywhere I go when on the road and can often get internet access, but looking at blogs would not exactly be considered "work related"! So, can you imagine my frustration when my good friend Danderella rang me up at work on the day I was leaving and told me I had been chosen as one of the top 3 over at KLSNS for last week's challenge!?! I couldn't even go and check it out until tonight! (though I am still happy she told me!) I am so excited and honored to be chosen and soon I will be able to proudly display a special blinkie on my sidebar!

Today I am sharing my interpretation of the sketch over at Get Sketchy. I must admit that I found this a little difficult. Once I had the curvy piece cut out, I couldn't figure out what to do with the empty space, so I added some stitching - not so sure I love it, but it did help a little. I did enjoy working with these fun colors again though.
Once again, I apologize for my photography. I continue to experiment, but nothing compares to natural light! I also thought I'd try photographing the copics I used while I was at it, though they are hard to see in the photo, you can click to enlarge if you like.

I had some fun finishing the inside of this one too. I just love this sentiment!
Hope you are having a great week! Mine is going well, but I am pretty tired from my trip - we tend to work overtime while on the road, so I'm looking forward to the weekend very much!
Take care,
Shanna :)
p.s. Don't forget to join us on Sunday for the 1st ever Paper Sundaes Challenge! There is still blog candy to be won if you are interested, scroll down two posts to check it out.
What I used:
stamps: CC designs digital, CTMH Card Sentiments
papers: CTMH Let's Get Together
embellishments: misc button, prima, machine stitching

Friends....

First of all, thank you so much for all of your enthusiasm for the new Challenge Blog Paper Sundaes! If you haven't done the hop yet, scroll down to yesterday's post and get the details, there is lots of candy to be won and there is still time! Thank you for all your encouraging comments, they made my day!
For today's card, I was playing around with a similar color scheme as I had out all my MME papers from making the Sundae card. I have had this SU set, Love Matters forever and had never inked it - tsk, tsk. So, I inked it up and played a bit, can't wait to use some of the other stamps in this set.
Here is what the inside looks like. I used a quote from CTMH's "True Friends" which is the stamp of the month for January.
Oops, I almost forgot, I am going to put this in as another entry for the Just Us Girls challenge this week which is to use stitching! I must say, finding a place to leave my sewing machine OUT rather than tucked under my scrap counter was the best decision I ever made!
What I used:
Stamps: SU Love Matters, CTMH Jan stamp of the month True Friends
Papers: MME, CMTH blush & chocolate
Embellishments: prima flowers, SU ribbon, Kaiser pearls, cotton candy Stickles, misc buttons, machine stitching
Tools: EK success border punch, CTMH edge distresser
Well, I am going to schedule this post and hope it works. I have never done it without being around to check on it to see if it works, so fingers crossed. I am heading out of town tomorrow for a work road trip and should be back sometime Wednesday evening. I will only have computer access via my work laptop and unfortunately, they frown on using it for things such as blog hopping - imagine that! -so I will be mia for a day or two, but look forward to visiting when I'm back. Have a great week!
Hugs,
Shanna :)

Then pop back over here to see my challenge card and see the winner of my blog candy!

When Danderella & I discussed what we were going to make for our "debut" Paper Sundae card, she shared her thoughts about doing a treat themed card such as ice cream - thanks for the inspiration Danielle! When I went thumbing through my sets, I found "I Scream" which is a retired set from Close to my Heart that has not seen nearly enough ink. With all these yummy My Mind's Eye Papers (a Scrapfest paper pack I rec'd two years ago), I had so much fun "building" my sundae!

What I used:

Stamps: "I Scream" from CTMH, flower sentiment from SU

Papers: Bazzil card base & pink for sundae cup, MME paperpack from Scrapfest '08, top notes die cut

Embellishments: bling from Kaiser, misc ribbon, pink Stickles, misc button, prima flowers

Tools: SU "misting" tool, circle punch

Here is what the inside looks like. I am also entering this card for the challenge over at Just Us Girls, which is to use stitching on a card.

To celebrate the debut of Paper Sundaes and also reaching over 3000 visitors to my blog, I am offering my first Blog Candy!

I am offering the CTMH stamp set & the little Stampendous sentiments pictured above along with a few little surprises added in. Here's what to do to have a chance at winning my first ever blog candy:

1) Become a follower of The Stamping Banana (if you aren't already)
2) Become a follower of Paper Sundaes

3) Leave me a comment indicating that you are a follower of both blogs
The opportunity to enter for this candy will close on Saturday, January 16th at 10 pm EST. Winner's will be announced on Sunday, January 17th on the day of Paper Sundae's First challenge!
Don't forget, the next stop on the hop is at Paper Sundaes.

Thanks so much for visiting me today, I hope you are all having a great weekend!
Cheers,
Shanna :)

Good evening,

Some exciting news!!!

My card today is one a needed to put together quickly for a co-worker who lost her Grandfather just before Christmas. This happens to be my "go to" stamp from Stampendous for sympathy cards, I just love the quote and it's such a nice way to think about those we've lost. Our thoughts are with Krysten and her Mom as her Grandmother is now facing surgery.

I should say also that I have been experimenting with a lightbox-type set up for when I HAVE to take photos with poor lighting. I haven't yet mastered it, so please bear with me here. :)

Now for the good news - I have been asked to be on a Design Team!!!!! (Can you see the silly grin on my face?!?) I am so thrilled and honoured that Shana & Christine have asked me to join the design team of their brand new Challenge Blog - Paper Sundaes! So, that means I get to be a Paper Sundae girl! They have been "brewing up" this fun idea and the Challenge Blog will make it's debut on Sunday, January 17th! However, you don't have to wait that long.....to get started, we are having a Paper Sundaes Blog Hop this Sunday, January 10th! We hope you will join us and visit the design team! There will also be LOTS of Blog candy in honour of the event!

Can't wait to share some of the creations I've been working on but couldn't yet share! Hope you have a great Friday!
Cheers,
Shanna :)

Happy Anniversary!

Happy "Hump" Day everyone! Can't wait for the weekend - the week always seems so much longer when you come back after holidays doesn't it?!
Here is a card I made before I went back to work. I have used this DSP and stamp set together before and just had to do it again as I liked it so much! This time I used it to make an anniversary card for my sister and brother-in-law whose First Anniversary will be on January 31st! Happy Anniversary Sis! (oops, I guess you might see your card before it arrives in the mail!)
I am just itching to make some cards, so hope to spend a little time in my scrap space tonight - hopefully will have something else new to show you in the next day or two. I have a few others "waiting in the wings" but can't show you just yet....more details on that in a day or two.... :)
I am going to try listing what I used rather than writing it out in sentences, we'll see how it works.
Have a great evening,
Shanna :)
What I used:
Papers: CS brown from Bazzil, DSP Bo Bunny
Stamps: CTMH "Childhood Portrait" and "From me to you"
Ink: CTMH chocolate
Embellishments: prima flower, Kaiser pearls, misc ribbon
Punches: Marvy

Sugarplum Ornaments Trevor

I am really on a roll with challenges now! I managed to incorporate two with this card. Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge this week is to use buttons. I have also used the sketch challenge (#96) from Taylored Expressions. Including this card, I am now at a count of EIGHT for Christmas cards for 2010! I am determined to get them done early this year and at this rate (and with weekly encouragement from Sparkle's Challenge) I think I am well on my way! Woo hoo! (Thanks Sparkle!)
I am pretty happy with my photos this go around, except for the little shadow spot on the first photo, but at least my lighting was good. I'm really trying to work on that. Now I must try to remember what I used....I rec'd the image from Danderella the other day when she came to tutor me in copic coloring! CS colors are topiary and cranberry from CTMH. Patterned paper is Reminisce from my stash which I think is about 2 years old. Sentiments are CTMH & Hero Arts. Buttons from CTMH and several different colors of Stickles! (I couldn't resist putting stickles on those ornaments!)
I had so much fun with this one, I may just make one or two more for the Christmas stash! Oh yeah, we did get to see the torch come through - it was very exciting - a real vibe of excitement from the crowd, but no good photos to share - too many people in the way! Oh well, hope you all had a good Monday - as good as a Monday can be - it is my least favorite day of the week, glad it's almost done. :)
Cheers,
Shanna :)

KL Scrappin' N' Stampin' Sketch Challenge

When I visited Kristine's Blog yesterday, I made note of the Challenge over at KL Scrappin' N' Stampin' and decided I was going to play along! I very seldom do challenges, mostly as I lack the time to go checking what's what and fit it in before the due date, but I have decided that I will try to fit them in more often. I mean, if I'm going to make a card anyhow, I might as well make it fit with a challenge, right? So, here it goes....

The challenge was based on a great sketch, and this is what I came up with.

I used papers from CTMH's "Let's Get Together" paper pack which I've had for eons literally! It went perfectly with this great Tilda image from Magnolia that I rec'd in a swap. I had a lot of fun with this one, adding some flowers & buttons (CTMH), a bit of stitching and I decided to go ahead and make it an easel card. I made a few of these for Christmas and couldn't believe how simple they were, but so nice looking! Such a unique way to display a card! The ribbon is Bo Bunny & the sentiment SU (one of my go-to Birthday sentiments). Once I had Tilda situated on her bench, she looked like she needed company, so I decided to stamp up "Rufus the dog" and color him in. I think it did the trick! The last photo is the inside of the card.
I want to send out a big Thank You to Danderella who spent the afternoon/evening with me on Wednesday and shared some of the tricks she has learned for coloring with copics. I learned so much in such a short time, hopefully you can tell, I think my coloring has improved already! She had shown me different things before, but we had never actually had the opportunity to sit down and simply color together - this was great as I could as for help as I went and figured a number of things out! Guess what? I now need MORE copic markers! He, he, he...... and the major bonus was I actually made six Christmas cards (all the same design) while we chatted and crafted - I have a major head start on next year - woo hoo!
Happy Sunday everyone! The Olympic torch is coming thru out NW Ontario town this evenign, so we will be taking the boys out to check out all the excitement! Back to work tomorrow for me,
Cheers,
Shanna
