Happy Birthday Wishes

I've finally found a bit of time to get into my scrap space! I was inspired by (no pun intended) the beautiful prize that Laurel sent me recently when I won one of her Inspired By challenges. Such a fun, bright and cheerful paper pack! Thanks Laurel!

I whipped up a quick yet pretty birthday card for the stash in no time. I even found a sticker to match - no stamping except the sentiment on the inside!

I am having a lovely visit with my sister and nephew who is keeping us on our toes. His latest thing is too funny - he goes to the cupboard that holds a basket of spices, grabs one and takes off like the wind running (as fast as an 11 month old can) to his room laughing hysterically! Hilarious!

Happy Last day of school! Wow - no lunches to pack for an entire week - until summer camp starts up!

What I used:
papers: Sweet Girl by Echo Park (gifted to me by Laurel)

So smashing

So, I have managed a bit of smashing this last bit in amongst gardening etc. Here are two random pages.

Sorry for the not-so-great photo of the second one. I originally thought to cover up this page as I wasn't too thrilled with the deer, but in the end I decided it would be fun to journal around and besides, we saw several deer that day. We have been enjoying doing some trails out at Sleeping Giant Provincial park. On this day, we did the Sea Lion trail (the rock formation in the top right photo). We had hoped to hike yesterday or today, but the weather has been crumby and threatening rain and thunder storms since Friday morning (though producing very little), so we stayed close to home.
It didn't matter though because my sister and nephew arrived yesterday, so we have been enjoying hanging out with them. Nothing better than company to help pass the time when the weather is not up to par.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

April for Graham's Album

Wow, long time no blog!!!
I've been busy working (and travelling for work), gardening (read WEEDING!), hiking with my boys and just keeping up with the every day, ya know?  Sometimes we need a break and something has to give.I even made rhubarb jam yesterday - yummmm!

Here is the April page for my nephew's album. If you are a regular visitor, you will know the story, if not, feel free to search Graham's album and the story and other pages will pop up. I am definitely behind, but all in good time.

This paper was SO fun to work with - it's "Little Boy Blue" from Crate Paper. I adore the chipboard accents in this line.

Well, I am starting to get the itch to get back in my scrap space, so hopefully it will be sooner than later so I will have something to share.
Hope you are having a great week!

The Festival of Trees

I've been smashing again , well a little - about the only crafty thing I have managed lately, and only one page at that, but it felt good.

Chester asked me to take him to the Festival of Trees a few weeks ago. His class had to read several books in a certain category, then vote on which book they felt should win. Unfortunately, the class was not attending the festival, so I took him out of school to go. It was pretty cool! He was able to meet (and get photos with!) and get autographs from a couple of his fave authors. There were also a couple of mini workshops that were pretty cool. He was thrilled and I felt it was time well spent.

The pic of him on the right is with author Kevin Sylvester who wrote the "Neil Flambe" series. I have not read this series, but I did read the winner's book "Making Bombs for Hitler" which was excellent (and a great way to work some important history lessons into fiction based on true stories.) Oh, and the journalling is by Chester himself. I have been encouraging the boys to add journalling to pages pertaining to them ever since the travel smashing began and whenever they will humour me, lol!

A very busy week ahead here so I may not be around blog land much. Any spare time should really be spent in the garden now that the weather has finally begun to warm up a bit...

Cheers,
Shanna :)
