Live in the Sunshine

I've been busy in my scrap room - we have lots of family birthdays in the spring!

I just realized I forgot to photograph the inside - this is my Mom's Birthday card. This quote seemed more fun for the front than the standard Happy Birthday since it fit with the theme.

I would like to share again at Inspired By - Time to Garden

And at Seize the Birthday - anything goes

Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of You

Today I have a card with a spring feel. I used the current sketch at Freshly Made as well as Laurel's Garden theme at Inspired By. I used to have a fabulous pair of red and white polka dot rubber boots that I wore gardening on the mucky days. They were so much fun!

A peek at the inside - the verse says:
In every walk with nature one receives far more than one seeks. - John Muir

Unfortunately, the light was a bit too low when I took my photos! I had to make it work, but I notice that the washi tape I used looks like a different colour on one side of my image - oh well - it is the same tape, but the lighting definitely wasn't working for me.

I would like to share at:
Freshly Made Sketches - I rotated the sketch

Santa's Little Helpers

Today I have a layout to share at Shopping Our Stash where the theme is - Mythical or Magical. My boys enjoyed helping to wrap gifts and pretending to be elves. They were so small here!

Journalling: Wesley enjoyed telling Daddy about him and Cameron wrapping gifts at Auntie Krista's house. "I was the "bower," we were being elves!"

I used some Thickers that had apparently been hanging around just to be used on this layout, since the green matched my Bo Bunny paper perfectly!

Here's hoping you are enjoying your weekend!

The sound of the bag pipes

When I saw Laurel's prompt for Mindful Monday over at Seabrook Designs, I knew I had to find time to play along.
This week's prompt was: sound. Before long, I was thinking about the haunting, yet profoundly beautiful, sound of the bag pipes, and my page started to take shape. It felt great to dig through my supplies and create a page - it had been way too long! I am going to start a brand new 8.5 x 11 album for this type of scrapping!

Journalling says: The 1st time I remember hearing the bagpipes was on a family road trip to BC. We were admiring the scenery at Lake Louise when someone started to play. I was 17, and falling in love with the mountains. The sound will always remind me of travel and exploring new places.
On an (extended family) RV trip in 2011, we happened upon the Highland Games in Eldon, PEI.

Hidden behind the family photo (apparently I had lots to write) on a tag: Cam participated in long jump and Gerry placed 2nd in the caber toss & got his photo in the local paper! There were, of course, several Pipe Bands - one is pictured here. What a wonderful welcome to PEI! That was August 6, 2011

Journalling: In Februray 2013, we headed to the Rockies because I was presenting at a conference in Banff! Skiing was the highlight! I was thrilled to return to Lake Louise & experience the views on skis! Blue/yellow dot bottom right is Cam

The family photo was taken at Peggy's Cove later on the same RV trip to the East Coast in 2011. Oooh, they were so little! And now, almost 7 years later, both my boys are taller than me and at least as tall as their Dad!!! I feel so small these days!

I would like to share at Mindful Monday where the prompt is: sound

And at Inspirational where the prompt is: play

Riding Along

Hello,

I have a quick but fun card for the challenge at Little Red Wagon which is "Riding Along" - feature some form of transportation on your projects. I didn't think too far outside of the box for this one, but I had been wanting to use this adorable van so this was a great excuse!
It was also an excuse to dig into my washi stash - I love the skinny rolls!

Is it Friday yet?

Someone special is Two!

This card is for my niece who just turned two!! I just love this stamp by Mo Manning. I can't recall the name of the image. I could not figure out how to add a sentiment without changing the layout entirely, so I decided just to add the number 2!
It felt so good to colour with my copics again - it had been a VERY, VERY long time!

Here is the inside:

The first is a Congratulations for Graduation. Looking back, there are a couple of things I would change about this card, but I do love the music paper I used as well as the stitching. Oh well, too late now.

Happy Friday!
I hope your weekend is fantastic!
