Easter's on it's way! I was able to make this cute Easter card with a cute image I received from the Canadian Image Swap at Splitcoast Stampers. The patterned paper is the Imaginsce Easter line from last year - I still love it! CS is crystal blue and blush from CTMH. The flowers are CTMH and the brads are sugar coated - I love these! I embossed the sentiment in white. I also used the SU scallop punch for the boarder. These were fun to make with all those springish colours - thanks for looking!Monday, March 30, 2009

Valentine's Comes before Easter....

Happy Friday everyone! I really want to post the Easter cards I made, but I never did post the other Valentine's that I made, so thought I'd do that first. Love you Moose was for my hubby - a very simple, but fun card. Whenever one of us refers to the other as "dear" - the other responds with "yes, Moose!" It was my hubby who started it, so I thought it fitting for a Valentine.
The second card was what I made for each of my boys. I love the "Reach for the stars" set from CTMH and was laying in bed one night trying to think how I could use it for a Valentine Card for them when suddenly it came to me - I remembered I had the sentiment that said "I love you to the moon and back." ( A quote from a popular children's classic "Guess How Much I Love You".) Anyhow, the next morning, I made these cards. Nothing tricky or spectacular about them, but I am happy with how they turned out. The patterned papper & matching star stickers are from Cosmo Cricket, the ribbon is SU and I had to add stickles to the exhaust from the rocket. Happy Weekend!

Hello Grandmaman!
Happy Wednesday! We had some great weather over the March break - mild so my boys were able to enjoy the great outdoors - and especially enjoyed playing in the wet snow and puddles that were created by all the melting going on. The last couple of days though have been not so nice - rain and ice - the layer of ice I had to peel off of the truck's windows before picking up my boys at daycare yesterday was nearly an inch thick! Today is a little better, still raining, but not as cold, so we have more slush than ice - hope it stays warm so things can drain before freezing again!Well, I said I loved Taylor's sketch and just knew I would use it again. This time, I used my new Changito Slicker stamp from Stampendous, isn't he the cutest? The CS is crystal blue and sunflower - can't say I've ever used those colours together before, but they worked for this. Once again, I used CTMH's Spot on Backgrounds set to stamp tone on tone and embelilshed with SU grosgrain ribbon. A simple card really, but I'm happy with how it turned out. We sent it to Grandmaman, along with some artwork by the boys, as she is in hospital and too far away to drop by for a visit.

More baby pages...

This is the second part of the 8X8 Baby Album post. As I mentioned, I did February 2010 which will be the month of baby's first birthday and August 2009. So, for February, used the Happy Bird-day line from 3bugsinarug and embellished with images from Inkadinkado's clear birthday cupcake set and a couple of CTMH flowers. I used cricut for the title. For August, I used Bo Bunny's new Love Shack papers. I random stamped the background of the breeze coloured CS with a CTMH stamp (sorry can't recall the name of the set). I also used SU scallop punch on this layout - what a great investment that was - I had to buy the eyelet border punch too! Thanks for looking, have a great evening!

I love Tilda!
I fell in love with Tilda (and Edwin) when a good friend introduced me to the world of blogging and to Splitcoast Stampers. The very first placed I saw Tilda was on Sparkle's blog - she was making such fabulous cards with these cuties! So, when I saw this one on the Canadian Express Image Swap over at Splitcoast Stampers, I just had to have her. Thanks so much Gail for sending her to me!I was so pleased with the final page for the baby album (previous post) that I made with these beautiful Alissa papers from Bo Bunny, that I had to make a card just like it! I'm happy with how it turned out and will probably make another. Happy Monday!

8x8 Baby Album pages

Lately, whenever a fellow scrapbooker has a baby, a group of us have been combining our efforts and making a Baby Album. We each choose 2 or 3 months to complete depending on how many of us are contributing. The idea is to provide room for photos on one side of the layout and a calendar on the others side where Mom can document special moments and "firsts".
In this case, the baby was a girl! Girly albums are fun for me because I have two boys. Ooh, I had fun with this one! This time around, I was responsible for the Title page, the Final page, the Baby's first Birthday month (Feb 2010) and August.
The title page and final page are included in this post. The others I will post later. For both of these layouts, I used the new Alissa line from Bo Bunny. So nice - and I must admit, I wouldn't have purchased if it weren't for this project - but so glad I did as I'm having fun using the scraps on cards!
On the title page, I also used some black, blush & baby pink CS and a chipboard "H" from CTMH. I used black grosgrain ribbon & the new boarder punch from SU. Flowers are by Prima & CTMH. The flower "journal" spot is a stamp by Prima. I covered the chipboard "H" with matching paper and embellished with some bling.I was so scared to use black on the title page of a baby album, but love the way it turned out.
On the final page, I added some Bo Bunny polkadot ribbon and some hidden journaling behind the spot for the photo. I also added a little bling (icons by Me & my big ideas) in each corner of the layout. Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday to my spring "baby"!

I can hardly believe my firstborn is seven! I remember those first few days as a Mom like they were yesterday - the excitement, the frustration in learning how to nurse, being sad because he had to be "under the lights" with no clothes on due to jaundice, and having to stay in hospital two days longer until the jaundice cleared up, my hubby passing out chocolate Easter eggs to all the nurses - we had great nurses and it was almost Easter. I remember saying "I just want to take my baby home and put clothes on him!" I remember crying when I walked in the house, I was just so happy to be home! Wow, do they ever grow up fast.... at seven he has become a great little reader and is learning to play piano and loving it. He just finished soccer season a couple of weeks ago and wants to try gymnastics next. He was mesmerized watching some older boys on the pommel horse and uneven bars when we attended a "gymnastics Birthday party" for a friend a few weeks back, and it's not the first time he has shown an interest, so we are going to give it a try.
Anyhow, about the card... I just got my hands on a few new stamps from Stampendous and decided the Changito Baker set would work perfectly for his Birthday Card. I based the layout on Taylor's Sketch TECC57. I love this sketch and can see using it lots! CS is CTMH in black, holiday red and dutch blue. Background stamps are from the CTMH Spot on Backgrounds set and the sentiment is from CTMH Happy Birthday set. I used liquid applique on the icing for the cake. I decided to show the inside of the card. I have always done a little something on the inside, but lately have been inspired to put in a little extra effort after looking at the work of others. Thanks for all your ideas!

A Winter Wedding...

Well, here is my beautiful Sister and her beau on their Winter Wedding Day. The group shot is my immediate family with our significant others. The little boys in the tuxedos are mine. My hubby is the one in the burgundy dress shirt. The photos speak for themselves, it was a beautiful day and I'm so glad to have been a part of it. Once again, these photos were taken by Kim Magee. See previous post for a link to her website.
