I have tons of photos to share from our holidays, but need to get a little more organized, so for now I am just going to share the bookmarks that "Grandma" Joan and I made while at camp. Joan joined us at camp for the week, which was fantastic as she is just like a Great Grandmother to my boys and she is so fun! I introduced her to stamping about a year ago when she visited us, so thought I'd bring along a few things so we could play while at camp. This is one of the projects we worked on. I used some "recycled/hand-made" paper I've had in my stash for awhile on mine as well as a fun quote.
I showed Grandma Joan how to stamp the background for this one. This thing I find most difficult for bookmarks is not adding embellishments - it is so hard for me!!!
We did lots of reading at camp - I finished Diana Gabaldon's "The Fiery Cross" - two more to go in the series - I thoroughly enjoyed this one! I also read "Dances With Wolves", (I know it's been around forever, but I'd never read it) and "The short Second Life of Bree Tanner" by Stephenie Meyer. I am now working on "The Half-Blood Prince", trying to catch up to Chester who is almost finished "The Deathly Hallows". It was fun to compare notes about what everyone was reading while at camp. Chester has Papa reading the Harry Potter series, he is just starting "The Prisoner of Azkaban". I got my sis hooked on The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, so now that she has read a bit, we can discuss the characters - I just had to be careful not to say too much! Grandma Joan is also a reader, so she had some recommendations as well. I am reading the Beverley Cleary books with Pickle Pants, we worked through "Henry and the Clubhouse" while away and we're ready for the next one.
So what are you reading?
I'll be back on Sunday with Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge.
Cheers,
Shanna :)
Cute bookmarks!
ReplyDeleteLove the bookmarks! I'm reading Eat Pray Love right now. Good book!
ReplyDeletevery nice bookmarks! Sounds like you are really busy - I'm reading the House of Night Series - not super thrilled with it (maybe I'm getting old, but it really feels like it's written for teens), but I'm reading anyway as I want to know what will happen ;) btw - my 8 year old DD started reading it too - not sure if it's the best reading for her, but I let her. She's reading Anne of Green Gables at the same time LOL!
ReplyDeleteNice bookmarks! I just finnished Tough Customer by Sandra Brown, awesome.
ReplyDeleteLove the bookmarks! I haven't been reading much this summer, need to find more time!
ReplyDeletesweet bookmarks - i just read "in harms way" by ridley pierce - real page turner. :D
ReplyDeleteGoodness gracious me! Your eyes must hurt from all that reading! No wonder you need all the gorgeous bookmarks, they are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI was given another Stephanie Meyer book to read but haven't had a chance yet, it's a spin off of the Twilight saga and it's about Victoria, I can remember the name of it and it's in the boot (trunk) of my car which hubby had taken. I'll find out and let you know when he's back. You can tell me if it's worth starting if you have already read it!
Seems we are doing the parallel lives thing again as we have been having a mammouth toy clear out yesterday....there were tears!
