Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge Week #38

Good morning everyone and Happy Sunday! I have not been able to participate in Sparkle's Christmas Card challenge for a number of weeks now due to holidays and other stuff happening, but I am so thrilled to be able to post two cards today! I must admit though that I "cheated" a little... I actually made these cards last weekend and since Sparkle gave us the option to use the sketch or not, I thought I'd post them since I was going to post them sooner or later anyhow. Hope you all don't mind! :)
This past weekend, I got to scrapbook with Donna and amongst other things, I got the chance to try out her new "A Child's Year" Cricut Cartridge - Oh my goodness, I'm in love! I think this is the best one yet, not only does it have tons and tons of fabulous and breathtaking silhouettes, it also has a font! Now, I have had a Cricut for a long while now, but rarely use it for cards and have never actually purchased one mainly for use on cards, but this one is a MUST HAVE! I came home and told my hubby that I found my Birthday gift (still a couple of months away)! Anyhow, it was so much fun to play with this cartridge and I cannot wait to get my own! While I was playing with this, Donna was busy designing her upcoming Christmas Card Workshop for World Card Making Day at the LSS, DAT'S - wow, did she ever come up with some fun and fabulous cards!
This fabulous paper is from one of the new Bo Bunny Christmas lines, I'm loving it! The first sentiment is Stampin Up and the brads are Bo Bunny - had to have them since they matched the paper!
Well, on my last post, I mentioned that my boys were coming home. They arrived home late (read 10:30 pm, two hours past bedtime) Friday night, so I didn't really get to hang out with them until yesterday. We had a great day together with my Sis and her hubby. We went to the local Farmer's Market for some yummy stuff (always feels so good to shop local!) and then checked out a few more local shops before heading to Krazy Golf for a game of mini-putt. I actually got a hole in one! Okay, so three of us in a row got a hole-in-one on the same hole, I'm really not that good! We got home and did some tidying in the yard and garage and then my hubby made us a great steak and shrimp dinner - yummmmy! So, if that wasn't good enough, my sis and hubby introduced us to one of their favorite past-times - Sing Star! OMG, we had a blast! If you haven't tried it, it is like Karaoke but on a video game so you compete with another person or you can do "pass the mic" in teams - we haven't laughed so hard in a long time and didn't get to bed until 2:30 am! Yikes, it's been a long time since I've been up that late! Thanks for the good times Sis!
We are heading up the street to Danielle's at lunch time to attend a Charity BBQ in support of Women at the Helm, an annual Sailboat race to help raise funds for Cancer Research. My boys are looking forward to it, especially since they missed their friends while they were away. Enough rambling from me, hope you have a great Sunday!
Cheers,
Shanna :)
