Happy Birthday!

I've been wanting to enter a card for Bellarific Friday for some time now and just always seem to run out of time. Well, this week's challenge is a fantastic sketch, so I made a point of finding the time. I love this sketch and know I'll use it again!

This card also works for the challenge over at Raise the Bar - which is "baked goodies"! I have a sentiment "Maybe a cupcake would help?" which would have been perfect on this to turn it into a "thinking of you" type card, but do you think I could find it??? Of course not, but I can always use a Birthday card, they never hang around in the stash for very long!

Would you believe that this is another stamp from my "as yet uninked" pile!?! Yikes, I have had this one for awhile! I love her with this yummy Basic Grey paper from the Urban Prairie line. I used one of my new sentiments from the Birthday set of Amy R stamps and of course, had to add a little Bella bling!

The boys are both doing Daycamp at Chippewa this week-the "story of the day" concerns "Chester" - the eight year old. (Side story here - I had yet to come up with a "screen name" for him, so I asked him. He put a big grin on his face and said "Chester;" so Chester it is!)

Well, I packed the backpacks in haste after sleeping in a little - threw in some trunks, clean wunderwear and a towel with the sunscreen & lunch. Now, you should know that Chester is rather on the thin side - not because he doesn't eat - that is not at all the case! So many times, I buy him a pair of shorts or trunks and they are way too big and he has to wait until the next summer - or maybe the one after that - to wear them comfortably. Well, this morning, I neglected to remember that there were a pair or two of "too big" trunks in his drawer. Well, when he came home, he was still wearing the "too big" shorts and promptly demonstrated to me what happened when he let go of the waist band!!! Long story short - he couldn't go swimming - heavens knows why he chose to walk around holding up his shorts rather than changing back into clothes that fit, but I have never understood the inner-workings of the minds of little boys - or men for that matter! Note to self - check which trunks are too big and hide them somewhere!

I hope you are having a fantastic week! I will be travelling for work, but just overnight, so hope to visit again on Thursday night. Lucky me - this trip I get to stay at my most favoritest B&B (Island Shores) in a beautiful little spot called Rossport. If you are ever in this neck of the woods, it is a fantastic little spot and the breakfast is so yummy!

Cheers,
Shanna :)

  2. Great card and yummy papers. Love your sketch too.
Bless Chester! My eldest also has the tall thin problem (doesn't get it from me sadly!) so i had to laugh at the very familiar "wait two years and it might fit" story! BD was waering what were meant to be 3/4 length shotrs for 2 year olds as over the knee shorts as they only just fit him round the waist at 4! Saved me a fortune!
Have a fabulously glamourous time with work. I would love to say that I had a jet set job!

  6. Love this card, the image is super cute! I'm glad I'm not the only one with some un-inked stamps! Love the story of the little one at camp....I've given up trying to figure out the inner workings of the minds of little boys & men, don't think I'll ever understand it :) Have a great & safe trip!
